Murphysboro Centuries, 13th secular

- a skeptic in religious matters, he was a strong believer in magic - in 1295, he issued Clericos laicos, a decree in which he forbade any secular leader to try and make any church official give any tax, tribute or gift to any secular power whatsoever (this would have ruined the economies of a number of countries)
